The Reindog Family* — a combination of reindeers and greyhound dogs, this lovely family was found by Bridget burrowing in the snow behind their natural invisibility protection spell. Read more about them in Volume One
Ziggy the Ghost Dog*` — In life, Ziggy was the beloved pet of Gertie and Bridget. Instead of moving on after his death, he continues to hang out with them. Maybe it’s because Bridget can see him with her enchanted eye, or maybe he just can’t help but stay with his favorite people. Read more about him in any of the Tales of Mundane Magic books!
Shelby the Storm Owl* — Making their home in the Mercurial Mountains of Crescyth, storm owls have the power to change the weather with their whistles. Shelby’s mood is very effected by the music she listens to, which in turn leads to her summoning storms or good weather. Read more about her in Volume Three.
Franklin the Oozen* — Oozen live in the swamp, but Franklin found his way through the sewer to a restaurant. A fan of toast and jazz, Franklin refused to leave until the owner eventually relented and let him make his home in a supply closet. Read more about him in Volume Four.
Whetzle the Witch’s Familiar^ — from the yet-to-be-published novel Deidre Dies at the Beginning, Whetzle is a giant snail that acts as main character Deidre’s familiar. He’s well versed in illusionary magic, and was once an archeologist’s assistant. The Great Transporting Wabek^ — named for the sound they make when they jump through space — “wah-bkk!” — these critters are the only living being that can transport, which makes them very difficult to keep in a zoo…read more about them in Volume Three!
“Kitties” aka Baby Giant Pillbugs^ — or rollie pollies, depending on what you call them. Why kitties? If a baby goat is a kid, and a baby fox is a kit, why couldn’t a baby bug be called a kitty? These critters make their home in the Old Woods near Flories Boarding School’s campus, and have grown extra large and magical there. Read more about them in Volume Four!
The Gentle Buffarilla^ — with the strength of both a bison (or American buffalo) and a gorilla, the buffarilla is a gentle giant, but don’t get on their bad side! If you want to read more about her, pretend that the normal gorilla in Volume Three is a buffarilla instead. It’s a retcon, but now the author’s intention.
